  • Pumping system
Considering the spectral absorption characteristics of impurity ions in CTH:YAG crystal, xenon lamp, which matches the absorption spectrum of laser working materials and has high luminescent efficiency, is selected as the pump source.
  • Resonant cavity
Considering the application of the laser in the medical field, the beam divergence angle and the beam stability are required very high. The plane-concave resonator is choosen here.
  • Cooling system
Considering the structure of the CTH:YAG laser cavity and the large heat production in the working process, the liquid cooling system is feasible.
  • CTH: YAG crystal
It is based on the YAG and doped with Cr3+, Tm3+ and Ho3+ ions. It has the strongest emission ability at 2080nm, and has large absorption cross section. It can effectively obtain the 2. 1 μm wavelength laser.
  • Laser lithotripsy
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Resection of tumor
  • Intranasal ethmoidectomy
  • Arthroscopic surgery
  • Shallow penetration
  • Small damage range
  • High security
  • Good water absorption
At present, there are many different types of laser in clinical application of laser lithotripsy. Considering that the high energy density of the laser is easy to damage the human body, the CTH:YAG laser with the output wavelength of 2.1μm is usually chosen. The working principle of CTH:YAG laser lithotripsy is the photothermal effect produced by the physical absorption of the continuous pulse energy from the laser, which is superior to other lasers in property and safety, and avoiding the disadvantages of the traditional form of lithotripsy. Its main advantages are: using the flexible nature of the fiber to cooperate with the use of flexible nephroscope, and the stone removal efficiency is very high. In addition, except the lithotripsy, CTH:YAG laser can also be used to treat local soft tissue lesions, at the same time its thermal radiation has the antibacterial effect.
